MU (Micron Technology) — Covered Call Roll
Trade — October 8, 2026
Bought to close: 1 October 9 $1,065 Call
Sold to open: 1 October 14 $1,065 Call
Net credit: $11.41 per share
Total net roll credit: $1,141 before transaction fees
MU stock price at execution: Approximately $1,065
Why I Made the Trade
MU was trading right around my $1,065 strike, and the premium available for extending the covered call another five calendar days was particularly attractive.
Rather than let the October 9 call approach expiration, I decided to roll it forward to October 14 while keeping the same strike.
The roll generated an additional $1,141 in option credit without requiring me to change my potential stock selling price.
This is the kind of opportunity I'm looking for: collecting meaningful income while continuing to manage a position I'm comfortable owning or having called away.
The Economics
I originally purchased these 100 MU shares at $1,061.73.
If the shares are eventually called away at $1,065, I'll realize a $327 gain on the stock itself.
So far, this new MU campaign has generated:
Initial covered-call premium: $989
October 7 roll credit: $1,040
Today's October 8 roll credit: $1,141
Total option credits: $3,170 before applicable transaction fees.
If the shares are called away at $1,065, the combined stock gain and option credits would total approximately $3,497, before fees.
Of course, if MU declines, I'll continue to own the shares and remain exposed to the stock's downside.
Where the Position Stands
I own 100 shares of MU with one outstanding October 14 $1,065 covered call.
I'm comfortable with assignment at that price, but I'll continue evaluating the position as expiration approaches.
Execution Parameters
I was comfortable making this trade around the prices shown above. If the stock or option has moved materially by the time you receive this alert, I would not chase it. The economics may be different from the trade I made.
This is a record of my actual trade and actual fill, not a trade instruction or signal.
