OIJ Trade Alert — TSLA & SOFI

Two Covered Call Rolls, $501 in Credits

October 23, 2026

Today I rolled two existing covered-call positions, collecting a combined $501 in net roll credits before transaction fees.

Both adjustments maintained my existing strike prices while extending the expiration dates.

Here's what I did and why.

Trade 1 — TSLA (Tesla)

Bought to close: 1 October 23 $377.50 call
Sold to open: 1 October 28 $377.50 call
Net roll credit: $4.11 per share
Total credit: $411 before fees

I own 100 shares of Tesla purchased at $357.93.

My October 23 $377.50 covered call was approaching expiration. I found an opportunity to extend the position five calendar days while collecting another $411 in option premium.

Importantly, I maintained my $377.50 strike.

I'm comfortable having the shares called away at that price. But when I can collect additional premium without lowering my potential selling price, I'll evaluate the opportunity.

In this case, the economics made sense to me.

Trade 2 — SOFI (SoFi Technologies)

Bought to close: 3 October 23 $15.50 calls
Sold to open: 3 October 30 $15.50 calls
Net roll credit: $0.30 per share
Total credit: $90 before fees

I currently own 600 shares of SOFI.

I've previously discussed my intention to gradually reduce or exit this position.

Three hundred shares are covered by these calls, while the remaining 300 shares are not currently covered.

Today's adjustment extends the covered calls one additional week while maintaining the $15.50 strike and collecting another $90 in option premium.

I'm comfortable having those 300 shares called away at $15.50 as part of my effort to reduce the position.

If the calls expire without assignment, I'll reassess the next opportunity.

This adjustment doesn't change my longer-term intention to reduce my SOFI exposure.

Why I Made These Adjustments

I've been selective with my trades over the past couple of weeks.

I'm not interested in extending positions merely to collect a small amount of premium, particularly if doing so requires accepting a strike I'm uncomfortable with.

Today's trades offered a different opportunity.

I was able to maintain my existing strikes while collecting additional credits.

Both positions remain subject to assignment, and the premiums collected provide only limited protection against declines in the underlying shares.

I'll continue evaluating each position as market conditions change.

I have a strategy, but I don't have a quota.

Execution Parameters

These are my actual trades and reported execution prices. Option premiums and underlying stock prices can change materially after execution. I don't chase trades when the economics have changed.
