TRADE ALERT — INTC (Intel)
Covered Call Rolls

I made two covered-call rolls this morning on my 200-share INTC position.

Trade 1 — 100 shares

I rolled my September 18 $100 call out to the September 23 $100 call.

Net credit: $0.98 per share ($98)

I kept the $100 strike and extended the position five days while collecting additional premium.

Trade 2 — 100 shares

I rolled my September 18 $105 call out to the September 23 $103 call.

Net credit: $1.34 per share ($134)

On this block, I chose to move the strike down from $105 to $103 while extending the expiration five days. In exchange for giving up $2 per share of potential upside if the shares are called away, I collected additional premium today.

Why I Made the Trades

I own 200 shares of INTC at a $99.84 stock cost basis and have been managing the two 100-share blocks separately.

Both September 18 calls were positions I was comfortable extending. The available credits made the rolls attractive to me, so I took the opportunity rather than waiting until expiration.

After today's trades, my 200 INTC shares are covered by:

  • 1 September 23 $100 call

  • 1 September 23 $103 call

Total net credit from today's two rolls: $232

Execution Parameters: I was comfortable making these trades around the prices shown above. If the stock or options have moved materially by the time you receive this alert, I would not chase them. The economics may be different from the trades I made.

This is a record of my actual trades and actual fills, not a trade instruction or signal.

Execution Parameters

The prices reported in Options Income Journal are my actual execution prices.

For current trade alerts, stock and option prices can move materially between the time I execute a trade and the time an alert reaches you.

If the economics of a trade have changed, do not chase my reported fill. Options Income Journal documents the trades I make in my own account; these are not trade instructions or signals.
