MU (Micron Technology) — Covered Call Roll

I rolled my existing MU covered call out to the October 2 $975 call, collecting a $9.13 net credit per share, or $913 for the contract.

Why I Made the Trade

I liked the opportunity to collect another substantial premium while also moving my strike price higher.

My previous call had a $965 strike, so this roll increased my potential sale price by $10 per share, or $1,000 on my 100 shares, if the stock is eventually called away.

At the same time, I collected another $913 in option premium.

That’s a combination I like: additional premium while giving the stock more room to appreciate.

I’m still comfortable with either outcome. I’m happy to continue owning MU, and I’m also comfortable selling the shares at $975 if they’re eventually called away.

Execution Parameters: I was comfortable making this trade around the price shown above. If the stock or option has moved materially by the time you receive this alert, I would not chase it. The economics may be different from the trade I made.
