Trade Alert — MU, SPCX & TSLA Covered Call Rolls

I made three covered-call rolls today as the market strengthened and option premiums improved.

Yesterday was a fairly significant down day, and I didn't see a reason to force any trades. I decided to wait and see whether a better opportunity developed.

Today it did.

MU — Micron Technology

Action: Rolled my covered call to the October 5 $965 call

Net credit: $10.06 per share / $1,006 per contract

MU's stronger move today provided an opportunity to collect another substantial credit while continuing to manage the position.

SPCX — SpaceX

Action: Rolled my covered call to the October 9 $152.50 call

Net credit: $1.47 per share / $147 per contract

I'm maintaining the $152.50 strike while collecting additional premium and extending the position.

TSLA — Tesla

Action: Rolled my covered call to the October 7 $362.50 call

Net credit: $2.56 per share / $256 per contract

I'm comfortable continuing the position at the $362.50 strike while collecting the additional premium.

Total Premium Collected

Across the three rolls, I collected approximately:

$1,409 in net credits

One reason I waited until today was simply that I liked today's opportunity better than yesterday's. A down market doesn't automatically mean I need to do something with my covered calls. With the market stronger today, the premiums improved enough for me to make these rolls.

Sometimes managing a position means making a trade. Sometimes it means waiting for a better one.

Execution Parameters

These are my actual trades and actual fills. I was comfortable making these trades around the prices shown above. If the stocks or options have moved materially by the time you receive this alert, I would not chase them. The economics may be different from the trades I made.

This is a record of my actual trades and actual fills, not a trade instruction or signal.
