OPTIONS INCOME JOURNAL
Trade Alert — SPCX, TSLA, SOFI & MU
I made four options trades today while traveling in Florence, Italy.
SPCX (SpaceX) — Covered Call Roll
I rolled my existing SPCX covered call out to the October 2 $152.50 call, collecting a $2.00 net credit per share, or $200 for the contract.
I kept the $152.50 strike while extending the position. I'm comfortable continuing to own the shares at this level, and the additional premium further reduces my effective cost in the position.
TSLA (Tesla) — Covered Call Roll
I rolled my TSLA covered call out to the September 25 $365 call, collecting a $1.63 net credit per share, or $163 for the contract.
I kept the $365 strike. I'm comfortable continuing to own TSLA, but I'm also comfortable having the shares called away at $365 if that eventually happens.
SOFI (SoFi Technologies) — Covered Call
I sold 6 October 2 $18.50 calls against my 600 SOFI shares for $0.24 per share.
That's $144 in premium before commissions and fees.
My previous six $18.50 calls expired out of the money last week, leaving all 600 shares uncovered. I didn't immediately replace them. I waited until I was comfortable with the combination of strike and premium, and today I decided the opportunity was there.
MU (Micron Technology) — Covered Call Roll
My fourth order filled shortly after the other three.
I rolled my existing MU covered call out to the September 28 $965 call, collecting a $7.50 net credit per share, or $750 for the contract.
MU continues to be an important premium-producing position for me. I'm comfortable continuing to own the shares, while the additional premium gives me another $750 of income from the position.
Four Trades — One Afternoon
Altogether, these four trades generated approximately $1,257 in additional option premium before final commissions and fees.
All four were made while I'm traveling in Florence. I'm not looking for trades simply because I'm traveling—or because I have a newsletter to write. I'm watching the same positions and looking for the same opportunities I would at home.
Today, several of those opportunities appeared at about the same time.
Execution Parameters: I was comfortable making these trades around the prices shown above. If the stocks or options have moved materially by the time you receive this alert, I would not chase them. The economics may be different from the trades I made.
